The renovation has as its subject a space on the ground floor of a liberty building of the early twentieth century in Milan. The project works through a process of emptying the volume, a 5 meter tall space 10 meters long, and internal reconstruction in which a unique element that hosts all the service functions while defining the entrance to the studio and the distribution of its spaces. This constitutive volume of the project also structurally supports the bridge that longitudinally spans the entire space, dividing it into two levels. The ground floor program entails entrance, meeting rooms and library, while up on the mezzanine a large open workspace spans the volume. The materials contribute to the clarity essential to the project; concrete and linoleum floors, poplar plywood furniture and cladding, stairs and railings in iron.
