The renovation of this apartment in the center of Milan concentrates on a reorganization of distribution. While maintaining the existing layout, a central spine, running the length of the apartment is introduced to clarify circulation and access to services areas including the kitchen and bathrooms. From the entrance to the bedrooms, this element, composed of wood, transforms from functioning as a divider, to a piece of furniture, to a door, to a wall, and also a closet, reorganizing the space entirely. Classic materials, such as Carrara marble and walnut are employed in a contemporary language to complement the context of the intervention.
